Ali Fathollah-Nejad is an Iranian–German political scientist and a freelance culture journalist.

He has pursued multi-lingual, multi-national and pluri-disciplinary university studies in Western European countries covering the fields of political science, sociology and law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Public Administration and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in European Studies from the University of Münster (Germany) as well as a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Administration and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) cum laude in European Studies from the University of Twente (The Netherlands).

He began his studies at the Lille Institute of Political Studies (Sciences-Po Lille, France) where he obtained an Intermediate Diploma.

Since 2008 he is pursuing Ph.D. studies at both the Institute of Sociology at the University of Münster (Germany) and at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London (UK).

Ali’s expertise and research interests lie in the U.S.–Iran conflict and the role of the European Union (with special attention to geopolitics, diplomacy, decision-making processes and power structures), 21st-century world order, peace and conflict studies, the foreign policies of the U.S. and EU vis-à-vis West Asia and transatlantic relations. He further focuses on politico−cultural issues of immigrant integration.

He has published over 50 pieces in English, German, and French with his articles being translated into Spanish, Arabic, French, Persian, Turkish, Italian, Czech and Japanese.

Ali is the author of a much-acclaimed study on the U.S.−Iran Crisis, entitled Iran in the Eye of Storm: Backgrounds of a Global Crisis, which had been consulted over 8,000 times from winter 2005 to spring 2007.

From 1999 to 2004, he had been working as a teacher in various German education centers, mainly with children and young adults of immigrant background.

He has received grants from the Franco−German University and the Alfried Krupp Foundation.

Ali has been featured on Deutsche Welle, the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), Schweizer Radio DRS, Channel S, Die Presse (Austria), and other media.

He speaks German, English, French, Persian (Farsi), and basic Dutch.

Ali Fathollah-Nejad, 1981 im nordwestiranischen Tabriz geboren, ist ein deutsch-iranischer Politologe. Ende 1987 emigrierten seine Eltern nach Deutschland, wo er 2001 in Essen als Jahrgangsbester im Rahmen eines deutsch-französischen bilingualen Zweiges das Gymnasialabitur erwarb. Bereits als Oberstufenschüler unterrichtete er Kinder, Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene mit Migrationshintergrund in sämtlichen Fächern, später verstärkt Englisch und Französisch.

Fathollah-Nejad studierte Politikwissenschaft, Soziologie und Rechtswissenschaft an der Sciences-Po Lille (Frankreich), der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster und der University of Twente (Enschede, Niederlande) im Rahmen deutsch-französischer und deutsch-niederländischer Doppeldiplom-Programme.

Er erwarb einen Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) und einen Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Administration sowie einen Master of Arts (M.A.) und einen Master of Science (M.Sc.) cum laude in European Studies mit der bestmöglichen Abschlussnote (1,0).

Fathollah-Nejads Arbeits- und Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen den US-Iran-Konflikt und die Rolle der Europäischen Union (unter besonderer Beachtung von Geopolitik, Diplomatie, Entscheidungsprozesse und Machtstrukturen), die Weltordnung im 21. Jahrhundert, Friedens- und Konflikt-Forschung (ins. in Bezug auf Westasien), die Außenpolitik der USA und der EU gegenüber Westasien sowie transatlantische Beziehungen. Zudem beschäftigt er sich mit politisch-kulturellen Dimensionen der Integration von Migranten.

Ali Fathollah-Nejads hat insgesamt über 50 Beiträge auf Englisch, Deutsch und Französisch veröffentlicht, welche in zahlreichen anderen Sprachen (Italienisch, Spanisch, Persisch, Türkisch, Arabisch, Tschechisch, Japanisch) übersetzt wurden. Ali Fathollah-Nejad (MA, MSc, BA, BSc), nacido en 1981, estudió Ciencia Política, Derecho y Economía en Francia (Sciences-Po Lille), Alemania (Universität Münster) y Países Bajos (University of Twente) en el cuadro de varios programas de estudios binacionales.

La prioridad de sus tesis de trabajo han sido tanto las Relaciones Internacionales, en especial la Geopolítica, Aspectos de la Globalización, Política Internacional del Medio Oriente, como las dimensiones político-culturales de Migración e Integración.

El autor germano-iraní es, asimismo, conductor de radio y periodista especializado en temas culturales.

Desde hace varios años, el autor se ha dedicado intensamente a investigar la actual crisis entre Estados Unidos e Irán, tema para el cual, consagró un trabajo de investigación de cien páginas con el título Iran in the Eye of Storm: Backgrounds of a Global Crisis (Irán en el ojo del huracán – Fondos de una Crisis Global). Entre el invierno 2005 y la primavera 2007, esta obra ha sido vista en Internet más de 8.000 veces. El proyecto de un libro sobre la obra esta en marcha, así como su traducción en varios idiomas.

Además, el autor dio en 2006 varias conferencias sobre el tema en todo el territorio alemán.
